Meet the Innkeepers, Phillip Wade Scott and Mellisa Nunley
Wade was born on a farm in Laurel, Delaware. Growing up there he discovered his love for horses. Upon completing high school, he pursued his dream of being a horseman. He moved to Aspen, Colorado beginning his career in the guest ranch business. After many years and working on ranches in California, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Arizona, he chose Wickenburg as his home. There he worked as head wrangler at the historic Kay El guest ranch until its closing. He then moved to Colorado to manage a year round guest ranch. After 4 years the ranch was sold. He then chose to move back to Wickenburg. He and Mellisa met and began to share their love of spending time in the Arizona high country.
Mellisa was born and raised in a small town in central Kentucky. She moved to Nashville, TN to attend college. After raising her daughter and working in the mental health field for many years, she was persuaded by her sister to move to Wickenburg, AZ. in 2009. There she discovered the beauty of the high Sonoran desert and spent most weekends exploring and camping the surrounding areas.
An Ideal Opportunity
For several years they had been camping and hiking in the Kaibab National Forest surrounding Williams. When the opportunity came up to move to Williams and run Trapper’s Rendezvous, it was like a dream come true. They are excited to have this opportunity to meet people from around the world and learn about different cultures. They are happy to share with you all the places to explore in Williams and the surrounding area.
We hope to create a western hospitality & social environment where folks can meet and share their experiences. We love children and will make them feel special and help them to appreciate the outdoors.
We hope you’ll come on by for a night or two and share some of your time with us.
